Ponnu Matriculation Higher Secondary School founded in the year 1967 by munificence and devotion of the noble person late Thiru.P.S.Thangavelu Mudhaliar with the moto of making the future generation Bright, Brave and Patriotic.
It was started as Ponnu English Home School and later it was upgraded as Matriculation Higher Secondary School and recogonized by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
